Good clear information. And to think for so many years I used oil and vinegars to coat those healthy veggie salads! Still not getting emails from your website

have you tried the product Coconut Ghee – as produced by GREEN PASTURES?
my nutritionist highlighted it in her recent newsletter here
http://tinyurl.com/297m25u and I’m wondering if it sounds OK to you.

Hi Judi,

Great comment — Yes, using oil and vinegars to coat a healthy salad is something that so many of us have done .. thinking we’re doing something totally healthy! Thanks for the comment about emails from my site. Sorry about that. I will definitely look into it ….

Cheers!

Hi Mary Grace,

Thanks for the comment – and Welcome to my site!

I wasn’t familiar with the coconut oil product that your nutritionist recommended, so I checked out the site. While coconut oil is definitely vastly superior to polyunsaturated oils that are commonly used, there’s a tremendous amount of research that supports avoiding ALL types of oil. Using ‘healthier’ oils in only small amounts, or not at all, is the best avenue to follow.

If you want to read further information on this topic, I would highly recommend the book “Preventing and Reversing Heart Disease” written by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Jr, MD. He is the definitive resource for this topic. This book not only has good explanations (in an easy-to-understand fashion), the book also includes many delicious recipes. His Cleveland Clinic research can provide you lots of answers to your questions.

I heartily encourage you on your journey of exploring and creating your optimal health!
